Ivet Bahar
Professor and John K. Vries Chair, Department of Computational & Systems Biology, University of Pittsburgh
Ivet Bahar’s laboratory uses a variety of computational approaches to define the bridge between structure and function, by modeling and establishing molecular systems dynamics. By applying multiscale network models in equilibrium they have established the close correlation between the conformational fluctuations that are predicted to be most easily accessible under native state conditions and the structural changes experimentally observed in different functional forms of a given protein. Dr. Bahar is a PI in the Computational Modeling Core and an active participant in bridging project 7 and pilot project 1.
